Raven

Margaret Sarah Pardy
“Raven”
Scratchboard with watercolour added.

This is one of two works Margaret sold at the 2019 Elected Members Juried Art Show at Vida Viva Gallery, Pointe Claire, Quebec.

Margaret’s newest scratchboard is another amazing work. An admirer said that they thought it was a sculpture because of the three dimensionality of the image.

Margaret’s an international artist.

Her creative process starts with her original photographs of nature, and then takes the best images to work up her composition. Many times she uses multiple images for reference to create her final composition.

Her studio and gallery space at the Alton Mills Art Centre at 1402 Queen St., Alton, Ontario. She also participates in various juried shows across southern Ontario and the United States.

Duchesnay Falls, Spring

Jesse Unsworth
“Duchesnay Falls, Spring”
Oil on wood
10″ X 12″
$300 with frame

“Art and creating for me has always been a search for the beautiful and the sublime in nature. Annual visits to Sudbury and other sketching trips to northern Ontario in the spring and fall is where I find inspiration for potential paintings. I paint with oils on wood for indoor and outdoor sketching as well as for large paintings in the studio.
My brush strokes are thick and thoughtfully expressed.
My work consists of landscapes painted in an impressionistic style. I enjoy  plein air painting and I always take a photo of the chosen scene to use as a reference in my studio in case I don’t finish the sketch on location. Other times I paint a small painting in my studio from a photo to then work into a larger painting if I choose to. My paintings can be described as dazzling; short brush strokes used sparingly.
Inspiration: My work is inspired by The Group of Seven, Wassily Kandinsky, Mysticism, and Theosophy.

Susan is a self taught artist who first discovered her passion for drawing and painting when she retired and moved to Oro-Medonte from Toronto. After some introductory classes from a local Barrie artist she began growing her skills in graphite, watercolour, pastel, coloured pencil and acrylic. Susan enjoys painting a variety of subjects in a realistic style and especially enjoys the challenge of portraiture. She loves watching as the paper starts to breathe life as she attempts to capture the subject’s personality and likeness.
