Inlet

Lu Robitaille
“Inlet”
10″ x 10″ print
$150     $350 framed

3 Artist Proofs and a Limited Edit of 125.

This painting is the first Image I went to print with.  I call it my anniversary print because it was my 10th year in business.  I sold half of the limited edition print, most likely because it is indicative of the east shoreline of Georgian Bay. The field work was done on an Island off  Whalesback Channel near Cognashene On.

Lu Robitaille was born in historic Penetanguishene. She and her husband raised their two children in the remoteness of Tadenac Bay, later settling in Huronia. Lu has a home studio on Cedar Brook Farm, her family fish farm. Her deep feelings for Georgian Bay live in the art she creates; her rocks and water reflect the love and warmth she has for this unique part of Canada. She has a great affection for the character of old farms and lighthouses. Lu has developed a new style and format based on watercolour for her medium. Moon Drops

The Moon River basin at one time was a great reservoir for pickerel. The water flow is controlled by the Ministry and Natural Resources and the Ontario Hydro. In early spring you often see the falls at its fullest spreading from one side of the banks to the other. It’s truly spectacular. You can see the full flow on my website if you look for Spring Flow. If you are in the area a visit to the falls can be a trying but wonderful experience.

“This Painting was conceived during a 5-week camping/hiking trip with my son Paul in Jasper National Park, Alberta Canada and inspired by the same image on the back of the former Canadian 20 Dollar bank note (out of circulation since the 1960s).”

“It was sketched on location, but completed in my studio.”
